ANOTHER CLINTON MASTERPIECE - Only this Time it's Hillary!
by Jerry Pippin
(1:00 a.m. Eastern August 27, 2008) Last night Hillary Clinton phoned Michelle Obama after her speech but did not get through to the expected new first lady-however, Mrs. Obama did talk with Hillary today. In fact lots of people form the Obama campaign wanted to talk to Hillary today. They wanted to know what Hillary would say and say plenty she did. However, she gracefully stepped over the tension between the two camps and passed over the question of the roll call on Wednesday afternoon with a huge receptive crowd to some pretty good campaign jabs at Senator John McCain.
As for phone calls tonight, it was a bit different. Senator Barack Obama according to his campaign was able to talk to Hillary after the speech tonight and he thanked her for huge emotional message of support to the ticket. Obama who was spending the night in Montana also called former President Bill Clinton with much the same message. Some Obama folks are worried about what Clinton will say tomorrow night, but according to sources, Obama never asked the former President, the topic was how proud both of them should be of their wives and their convention speeches.
Most people Monday night thought the Ted Kennedy and Michelle Obama speeches were nice and made inroads on a personal level but pundits seem to think there should have been more GOP bashing. Hillary and Keynote Speaker Mark Warren, Governor of Virginia made up for that tonight. Warner shows why he was able to capture a Republican state and why many people think Obama might just carry Virginia in the general election, one word - Charisma. Speaking of Montana and charisma, the Montana Governor who has 70 percent approval rating in Montana wowed tonight as well. Governor Brian Schweitzer was his usual self, full of emotion and straight talk from the west type delivery that was a crowd pleaser. This man is a rising star in politics and is interestingly enough open to several conspiracy theories about the the Bush Administration and beyond.
